You might have considered mentoring in the past only to find that the right opportunity, the right timing or the right trainee hasn't come your way.  Perhaps you've only started building your own research team in between giving lectures, writing papers and keeping up with the pace of innovation and wonder: can I spare the time it takes to invest in another project?

All of these questions are important to ask before committing to a mentorship role, but what you may not be asking is the most imporant question: how does effective supervising experience help me to reach my goals?  Here are a few reasons to consider joining the PROCESS team as a supervisor:

  • Fill a niche or gap area within your current group
  • MSCA Publications more often cited than peers and more frequently published in influential scientific journals
  • Track-record of supervision experience in prestigeous MSCA can be momentum needed to work towards ERC
  • Opportunity to employ talented researchers from across the world
  • Build your international networks through fellows who will travel to Ireland from other institutions with similar research priorities
